So you have decided to plan a trip to the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. You will need to learn about the

Accommodations that exist, the Tourism you will find in Vancouver and what transportation system will be available when you get there.

Accommodations:

VANOC, with the help of regional tourism and hotel associations, are beginning to develop an accomodation plan for spectators of the 2010 Winter Games. You can find more information about the accomodation plan in late 2006 and should be able to book at that time.

Tourism:

Vancouver: a modern city on Canada's west coast, with many wonderful views such as the waterfront and snow-capped mountains. You will enjoy beautiful gardens and world famous Stanley Park (a combination of natural forest and parklands).

Whistler: North America's number one winter resort where residents enjoy active lifestyle and hitting the slopes.

Transportation:

Different organizations such as the BC Ministry of Transportation, TransLink, BC Transit, the Vancouver International Airport Authority are developing a plan to look into existing and future transportation plans for the region and for the 2010 Winter Games.

The main goal for transportation at these games is the use of public transport. 6,000 park and ride spaces exist with accessible public transit services that will allow spectators to reach the games. No spectator parking will be provided at the venues and no plans to create additional parking spaces are in the works.

The 2010 Winter Olympics are going to be held in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada.

The venues stretch a 120 kilometre radius from Richmond to Vancouver, all the way to Whistler, BC.
